Ra's al Ghul

Ra’s al Ghul

Quality Assurance Officer

Ra’s is our sweet and silly six year old charcoal lab. He was the bestest little brother to Cowboy, now coming into the new role of Big Dog of the house and following Cowboys footsteps in duck training. Ra’s loves to cuddle with our two daughters and will fetch anything you throw. We designated the position as Quality Assurance Officer to Ra’s because he is always the one to follow up and make sure everything is up to snuff!

In Memory of Cowboy

2016-2026

Cowboy became my best friend when he was 3 months old, I was 21, living alone. He was Texas Made.

Working for Star Telegram at the time, they allowed dogs to work so he came with me almost every night I worked.

Cowboy was smart and strong minded from the start.

I went through a lot of difficult times early into life, when I got sober (coming up on 9 years in July) I spent all of my free time with him training, we’d find empty fields we wouldn’t be bothered in or chased off. Dog parks with swimming ponds (he loved it) to test what we’ve worked and anywhere that would allow dogs.

Working with him in the beginning, I found a true passion not just for him but for working with dogs in general. I thank him, my father and 2 big brothers for being the horsemen who steered me in the direction to work with dogs.

Fetch or Duck Retrieving was his favorite thing to do, especially if you added water. I’ve never had a water dog like he was.

He never liked grooming aside from the bath part. He got a nail cut too short when he was a baby at the vet and nails were always an issue for him. It always took a soft touch and sweet talking to get him to let me trim his nails. He’d go an hide if he knew I was coming

He was such an active dog, loved running and wrestling with me, he loved grazing his nana’s land (my mom) and he loved his family. He was the best family dog anyone could ask for.
